Edmonds, Shoreline & Lake Forest Park
The Northwest Seattle suburb has gorgeous views of Puget Sound and one of the most charming little business districts you can find. Its ferry terminal provides an easy jump-off point to the San Juan Islands, and with Highway 99 and I-5 nearyby, commuting into the city is a breeze. Today, Edmonds still has that small-town feel while still being one of the most populated cities in the state.
The city of Edmonds rests along a shoreline and the hillside beyond about 15 miles north of Seattle. Native Americans of the Snohomish people occupied coastal and river areas surrounding the site, and Euro-American explorers encountered their canoes, but they apparently had no permanent village sites in the immediate locale. Its founding father was George Brackett (1842-1927) (arrived 1876) and in its early decades, Edmonds thrived as a mill town. During the late twentieth century, the city became increasingly urban, while retaining elements of its small-town character.
George Brackett, who is generally recognized as the founder of Edmonds, was born in eastern Canada (probably New Brunswick). Growing up in the logging industry, Brackett came west as a young man and logged at several Western Washington locations while acquiring sufficient funds to buy ox teams and additional equipment. As he rowed along the shore of Puget Sound in search of timber in 1870, he was attracted to a hillside above a marshy area, the eventual Edmonds townsite. In 1876 he purchased 140 acres that stretched a half-mile along the waterfront and up the hill.

Laura was amazing. We had some interesting circumstances with a job change that required a very quick move. On top of being extremely knowledgeable about the market, she was so helpful and responsive in helping prepare the house for the move, from initial conversation to listing happened in less than a week and our first offer within 24 hrs. Furthermore, when we ran into some appraisal issues, she was extremely helpful in navigating the negotiation process. I would highly recommend Laura.
Michelle is absolutely amazing. She has a wealth of knowledge and goes above and beyond to help at every stage of the process. We looked at one home, fell in love with it, contacted Michelle, and she helped us move into our dream home with 14 other bids at play. She answered all my questions from the escrow process to favorite local restaurants and everything in between. I HIGHLY recommend working with Michelle!

We were so lucky to find Laura! She has a deep knowledge of the neighborhoods in Seattle and worked closely with us to find properties that matched our vision. We changed strategies a couple times after we realized that what we said we wanted wasn’t actually what we wanted, having seen properties that matched those qualifications perfectly. Laura was super flexible and patient with us through this process and we ended up finding a property only after a few weeks of working together. We also appreciated Laura’s empathy with us as first time homebuyers and all of the anxiety and second guessing that comes with the process. We’d highly recommend working with Laura!

I can not say enough about how amazing our experience was with Michelle. We had a complex and untraditional negotiation, in the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, and we had a baby during the negotiation process! She made owning a home possible for us and brought a level of humanity and compassion to the transaction that is commonly missing. I strongly recommend working with Michelle Beckman!
Michelle is a delight to work with. She is diligent, knowledgeable, and fierce on behalf of her client. We could not have been happier to work with her. And on top of it all, she is wonderful to be around. She is the perfect support whether you are selling or buying. I look forward to a future where we get to work with her again. 10 out of 10 a genuinely awesome human.
Michelle was awesome to work with, from the initial list of items to do to make sure the house showed the best and would receive the best offer(s) to do extensive market analysis to ensure a great initial listing price. She outlined every step of the selling process ensuring there were no surprises along the way. She followed up on every showing to gather important feedback and when there were multiple offers received on the same day, she was fantastic at helping decide which was the strongest offer to accept. She consistently went above and beyond, including amazing photos and marketing of my house and her diligence helped the selling process go smooth. I cannot recommend Michelle enough!
I am a transplant from New England. I had very little area knowledge but knew I wanted to be close to SODO for commuting. Diane helped to determine what my "must haves" were for the home I was looking for and drove me around neighborhoods to show me what was available in the commuting zone I was wanted to stay within. Once she showed me the exact home I wanted, she advised me on a negotiation plan and made all the necessary arrangements (in a very short timeframe). I could not have been happier with the finance company she put me in touch with as my bank could not meet the turnaround time I needed as well as the home inspector she was able to get me an appointment with in same week. I am over the top happy with my home and the entire process thanks to Diane.
